Instrumental Music
Did you know that we have a symphonic orchestra in our church? Many years ago a small beginning string class was started and gradually has developed into a nice size orchestra. We call it the “Preparatory Orchestra” which now includes strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. This provides an excellent opportunity for the fairly new to intermediate musician to advance on their instrument in an orchestral setting. Current members represent several schools, churches and enrollment is open to the community. Faith Chapel is privileged to serve our community in this capacity.
Do you or know of someone who use to play? Is that instrument stored somewhere in a closet? We’re here to help get you started again and even help you locate that instrument you may no longer possess. It’s never too late and you will discover the rewarding experience of blending instruments together as a symphony of praise. Ruby Styler and Jackie Parfet are music educators that are joyfully dedicated to this purpose.
Weekly rehearsals are on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. in the sanctuary. Concerts are performed seasonally. Please contact Ruby at 619-667-7128 for more information.
Sanctuary Choir
The Choir ministers each Sunday morning and occasionally on Sunday nights. The main function of the choir is to be lead worshipers in our services. In addition to the weekly ministry, the choir presents occasional concerts throughout the community as well as major musical productions at Christmas, Easter, and July 4th. If you enjoy singing, and want to give your talent to the Lord, come and be a part of the choir. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 6:45 to 8:30 pm in the music suite.
Worship & Arts Volunteers
The Worship and Arts department keeps a very busy schedule that raises a need for non-musical volunteer help. People are needed for set construction, music library, media ministry, including audio and video, photography, set-up... and the list continues. This department is comprised of not only the singer and musician, but anyone with a heart to serve in ministry. There’s always a place for you!
